To get into the spread eagle position:

This position is similar to the under the hood position. The difference lies in the positioning of the receiver's feet. In this position the receiver's feet are on the ground. In the under the ground position, the receiver's feet are off the ground.

In this position, the giver usually lies on his belly facing the receiver's buttocks. The giver could also be on all fours, lying off to one side of the receiver, or lying on his back. When the giver is in the following positions, the two participants are no longer in the spread eagle position:

• If the giver is lying on his back underneath the receiver, the two are in the 68 position.
• If the giver is on all fours with his torso above the receiver's torso, the two are in the 69 position.
